Giving Birth at Piedmont Hospital's Atlanta Maternity Center

Many of our clients choose to give birth at Piedmont because it is a beautiful facility with updated equipment and options along with phenomenal medical care from the OBs and nurses.

As doulas we love supporting birthing families at Piedmont because they offer many different birth options including unmedicated and medicated births, position changes to help labor and birth progress smoothly, wireless and/or intermittent monitoring as appropriate, nitrous oxide for coping, and more.

When you give birth at Piedmont Atlanta Maternity Center you will have access to:

  • Birthballs & Peanut balls
  • All baby care essentials (diapers, wipes, t-shirts, hats, blankets, pacifiers, formula if desired, etc.)
  • Basic needs for mom (gowns, grippy socks, peri-bottles, pads, mesh underwear, witch hazel pads, ice packs, etc.)
  • Basic linens and pillows for mom and her partner
  • Showers in all Labor and Delivery rooms
  • Lactation specialists in postpartum unit & hospital grade breast pumps
  • Rooming in and nursery options for your baby
  • Multiple on campus dining options including Starbucks, Panera Bread, and the Cafeteria. You can also have food delivered from any of the amazing restaurants Atlanta has to offer.

Postpartum Care at the Waters Pavilion in Atlanta's Piedmont Hospital

This is a first come, first serve area for your postpartum recovery. Your nurse will call to check on availability while you’re in labor and delivery. This is an additional cost of $715 per night in addition to the amount that will be billed to your insurance.

Your postpartum care at Waters includes:

  • 6 suites each with 2 rooms + bathroom in private locked area for added comfort and security
  • Plenty of space for additional guests
  • Meals prepared by the dedicated Waters Pavilion chef provided for patient and their partner
  • Smaller patient to nurse ratio
